Purple Fluorite is a mineral belonging to the halide group and is made of calcium fluoride (CaF2). It is recognized for its vibrant purple color, which can vary from pale lavender to deep violet. Morocco is among the countries where Purple Fluorite is found.

Morocco, located in North Africa, is known for its rich mineral resources. Purple Fluorite deposits are present in various regions of Morocco, including the Atlas Mountains and the Anti-Atlas Mountains. These mountain ranges are known for their geological diversity, which has led to the formation of various minerals, including Purple Fluorite.

Purple Fluorite forms in hydrothermal environments, resulting from heated fluids reacting with surrounding rocks. This mineral crystallizes in the cubic crystal system and often appears as octahedral or cubic formations. Its distinctive purple color is caused by impurities in the crystal structure, mainly traces of manganese.

In addition to its unique purple color, Fluorite has a glassy luster and a hardness of 4 on the Mohs scale. It features perfect cleavage along octahedral planes, allowing it to break into smooth, flat surfaces easily. The mineral also glows under ultraviolet light, emitting a blue or violet fluorescence.
