Eutrichiurides Fossil Fish Collcetion
Eutrichiurides species were very similar in form and build to modern snake mackerels, in that they were long and slender, blade-shaped fishes with elongated jaws possessing fangs and needle-shaped teeth, sword-shaped fish that struck its prey with deadly, lightning-quick attacks. This rare Eutrichiurides jaw with intact teeth was found in the phosphate mines of Khouribga, Morocco. The front fang is present along with the full array of teeth still attached to the jaw sections. The specimen is on its original matrix as found and has been fully cleaned to expose the detail of the jaw.
