The Woolly Rhinoceros is an extinct species of rhinoceros that once thrived across Europe and northern Asia during the Pleistocene epoch. As a prominent member of the Pleistocene megafauna, this massive Ice Age herbivore survived until the end of the last glacial period, adapting to extreme cold with its thick fur coat and signature forward-curving horn.

Adult Woolly Rhinos were truly enormous, measuring 9.8 to 12.5 feet in length and weighing between 4,000 and 6,000 pounds. Their powerful build, dense hair, and grazing adaptations made them one of the dominant animals of the Ice Age steppe.

Highly significant in Ice Age paleontology, the Woolly Rhinoceros offers valuable insight into prehistoric ecosystems, megafaunal evolution, and climate-driven extinction events. Its fossils remain in high demand among collectors, researchers, and enthusiasts of prehistoric mammals.
