Purple Fluorite is a halide mineral composed of calcium fluoride (CaF₂), renowned for its vibrant purple color, which ranges from pale lavender to deep violet.

In Morocco, Purple Fluorite is found in the Atlas Mountains and Anti-Atlas Mountains, regions celebrated for their geological diversity and rich mineral resources. This mineral forms in hydrothermal environments, where heated fluids interact with surrounding rocks, allowing crystals to develop over time.

Purple Fluorite crystallizes in the cubic crystal system, often forming octahedral or cubic shapes. Its striking purple coloration is caused by trace manganese impurities within the crystal structure. The mineral exhibits a glassy luster, a Mohs hardness of 4, and perfect cleavage along octahedral planes, allowing it to split into smooth, flat surfaces. Additionally, it fluoresces under ultraviolet light, glowing in shades of blue or violet.
