In Morocco, Purple Fluorite is found in the Atlas Mountains and Anti-Atlas Mountains, regions celebrated for their geological diversity and rich mineral resources. This mineral forms in hydrothermal environments, where heated fluids interact with surrounding rocks, allowing crystals to develop over time.
Purple Fluorite crystallizes in the cubic crystal system, often forming octahedral or cubic shapes. Its striking purple coloration is caused by trace manganese impurities within the crystal structure. The mineral exhibits a glassy luster, a Mohs hardness of 4, and perfect cleavage along octahedral planes, allowing it to split into smooth, flat surfaces.
