Purple Fluorite is a mineral of the halide group, composed of calcium fluoride (CaF₂). It is prized for its striking purple coloration, which can range from pale lavender to deep violet.

Morocco, located in North Africa, is one of the notable sources of Purple Fluorite. Deposits are primarily found in the Atlas Mountains and Anti-Atlas Mountains, regions renowned for their geological diversity that has produced a variety of mineral specimens. Purple Fluorite forms in hydrothermal environments, where heated fluids interact with surrounding rocks, allowing crystals to develop over time.

This mineral crystallizes in the cubic crystal system, often appearing as octahedral or cubic formations. Its distinctive purple hue results from trace manganese impurities within the crystal structure. Fluorite exhibits a glassy luster, a Mohs hardness of 4, and perfect cleavage along octahedral planes, enabling it to split into smooth, flat surfaces. Additionally, it fluoresces under ultraviolet light, emitting a captivating blue or violet glow.
