The Woolly Rhinoceros (Coelodonta antiquitatis) was an extinct species of rhinoceros that roamed across Europe and northern Asia during the Pleistocene epoch. This iconic Ice Age animal survived until the end of the last glacial period and was a notable member of the Pleistocene megafauna.

Adult woolly rhinoceroses could reach lengths of 9.8 to 12.5 feet and weigh between 4,000 and 6,000 pounds. They were well adapted to the cold climates of the Ice Age, with a thick, woolly coat for insulation and large, curved horns used for defence, foraging through snow, and competing with others. These massive herbivores primarily grazed on grasses and other low-lying vegetation, sharing the frigid steppe environments with mammoths, bison, and other megafauna.
