Hadrosaurus is a genus of hadrosaurid ornithopod dinosaur that existed in North America during the Late Cretaceous Period, approximately 80 to 78 million years ago. These dinosaurs weighed between 2 and 4 tons and primarily moved on all fours, with their hind limbs serving as the main support. They were nonetheless capable of rearing onto their hind legs to access elevated vegetation and could sprint bipedally to evade predators. Their dental structure was highly complex, featuring up to 1,400 teeth. While the forelimbs were less robust than the hindlimbs, they were sufficiently long to aid in standing and locomotion. Morphologically, Hadrosaurus resembled Kritosaurus, which coexisted in time and region, as well as later hadrosaurids like Edmontosaurus.
