Brachylophosaurus was a bold, mid-sized hadrosaurid roaming the Judith River Formation in Montana and the Oldman Formation in Alberta around 76.5 million years ago. Towering at least 9 meters long and weighing 7 metric tons, it sported a striking flat, paddle-shaped bony crest crowning its skull. With unusually long forelimbs and a broader upper jaw beak than its hadrosaur rivals, this dinosaur was built to stand out. Equipped with cheeks to hold its food and teeth designed for efficient chewing, Brachylophosaurus defied reptilian norms with its advanced feeding strategy.
