Brachylophosaurus, a medium-sized hadrosaurid from the Judith River Formation in Montana and the Oldman Formation in Alberta, lived around 76.5 million years ago. Adults grew to at least 9 meters in length and weighed approximately 7 metric tons. This dinosaur is known for its distinctive flat, paddle-like bony crest on top of its skull. It had notably long forelimbs and a wider upper jaw beak compared to other hadrosaurs of its time. Brachylophosaurus also had cheeks to hold food and specialized teeth for efficient chewing, a feature uncommon in reptiles but typical of ornithischian dinosaurs.
