Crackle Quartz is a type of quartz crystal that has been intentionally fractured to create a distinctive appearance. This is achieved by subjecting natural quartz to high heat and then rapidly cooling it, causing internal fractures. These fractures give the quartz a "cracked" or "shattered" look, which is often enhanced by dyeing the quartz with vibrant colors. The resulting stone is usually transparent or translucent, with the cracks creating a sparkly effect when light interacts with them.

Crackle Quartz is created through a controlled treatment process that enhances the natural beauty of quartz crystals. High-quality quartz is first selected, then heated to extreme temperatures (typically 800–1600 °C) and rapidly cooled, which produces a network of internal fractures. In some cases, dyes, minerals, or metallic infusions are introduced into the cracks to create striking colors and patterns.

This gemstone is recognized by its intricate web of internal fractures, which vary in size and arrangement, giving each piece a unique appearance. Crackle Quartz can range from transparent to translucent and is found in shades such as clear, white, smoky gray, and vivid colors like blue, green, and pink. With its glassy to vitreous luster and a Mohs hardness of 7, it is relatively durable, though the internal fractures make it more delicate than other quartz varieties.
