Name: Hadrosaurus

Type: Herbivore

Size: 7 to 8 meters in length.

Hadrosaurus was a well-adapted hadrosaurid dinosaur living in North America during the Late Cretaceous, about 80–78 million years ago. These herbivorous dinosaurs weighed 2–4 tons and were primarily quadrupedal, but could rise on their hind limbs to feed on higher vegetation or evade predators.

Its most notable feature was the dental battery, with up to 1,400 teeth, which enabled efficient processing of tough plants. The forelimbs supported standing and movement, complementing its strong hind limbs. Hadrosaurus’ anatomy shows close similarities with Kritosaurus and later Edmontosaurus, reflecting evolutionary adaptation among herbivorous dinosaurs.

The duck-billed snout, specialized teeth, and adaptive limbs of Hadrosaurus allowed it to thrive as a major plant-eater in Late Cretaceous North American ecosystems, illustrating the ecological success and diversity of hadrosaurid dinosaurs.
