Hadrosaurus represents a genus of hadrosaurid ornithopod dinosaurs that inhabited North America during the Late Cretaceous Period, approximately 80 to 78 million years ago. These creatures weighed between 2 and 4 tons and primarily moved on all fours, with robust hind limbs bearing most of their weight. Nonetheless, they retained the ability to elevate themselves on their hind legs to access higher vegetation and could even run bipedally to evade predators. Their dental structure was remarkably intricate, comprising up to 1,400 teeth. While their forelimbs were less massive than the hindlimbs, they were sufficiently elongated to assist in standing and locomotion. Morphologically, Hadrosaurus bore a resemblance to Kritosaurus, a contemporary species, as well as to later hadrosaurids like Edmontosaurus.
