Hadrosaurus is a genus of hadrosaurid ornithopod dinosaurs that inhabited North America during the Late Cretaceous Period, approximately 80 to 78 million years ago. These dinosaurs weighed between 2 and 4 tons and primarily moved on all fours, with their powerful hind legs bearing most of the weight. They retained the ability to stand on their hind legs to access higher vegetation and could run bipedally to evade predators. Their dentition was highly complex, featuring up to 1,400 teeth. While their forelimbs were less robust than the hindlimbs, they were sufficiently long to assist in standing and locomotion. Their overall morphology resembled that of Kritosaurus, a contemporary species, as well as later hadrosaurids like Edmontosaurus.
