Centrosaurus was a sizable herbivorous dinosaur that lived in North America during the late Cretaceous period, roughly 76 to 70 million years ago. It featured a prominent single horn on its nose, which could curve either forward or backward depending on the individual. Its beak resembled that of a parrot—large, toothless, and covered with a horny material—and was supported by strong muscles, possibly aiding in grazing. The dinosaur's teeth were ideal for grinding tough plant matter. Its moderate-length frills had large fenestrae and small, hornless edges.
