Septarian Dragon Stone:
Septarian is a unique stone found in only a few locations on Earth. In the USA, septarians are primarily located near Zion National Park in Southern Utah. They are also found in Mahajanga, Madagascar, and Morocco. These stones were formed on an ancient seafloor during the Cretaceous Period (50–70 million years ago). Originally, the nodules could be collected from the surface as they weathered out of the gray or tan clay hills. Today, excavation usually requires bulldozers, as septarian nodules are typically 20–30 feet underground. They are visually striking and can vary considerably in color and shape.
