Eutrichiurides species closely resembled modern snake mackerels in appearance and structure, being long, slender, and blade-shaped, with elongated jaws armed with fangs and needle-like teeth. They were sword-shaped fishes that attacked prey with swift, striking movements. A rare Eutrichiurides jaw with intact teeth was discovered in the phosphate mines of Khouribga, Morocco. This specimen includes the front fang and the full set of teeth still attached to the jaw segments. It remains on its original matrix as found and has been thoroughly cleaned to reveal the detailed structure of the jaw.
