Purple Fluorite, a halide mineral composed of calcium fluoride (CaF2), is distinguished by its vivid purple hues, ranging from delicate lavender to deep violet. This mineral is sourced from Morocco, a North African country celebrated for its abundant mineral deposits, notably within the Atlas and Anti-Atlas Mountains. These mountainous regions support a rich geological variety, enabling the formation of minerals such as Purple Fluorite. Created through hydrothermal activity, the mineral crystallizes in the cubic system, commonly presenting octahedral or cubic forms. Its characteristic purple coloration results from manganese impurities within its crystal lattice. Beyond its striking color, Purple Fluorite possesses a vitreous luster, a Mohs hardness of 4, excellent cleavage along octahedral planes, and it fluoresces blue or violet under ultraviolet light.
