 Leguminosites Lesquereuxiana Leaf

Although the Green River Formation is best known for its exceptional fish fossils, its fossil record also features a wide variety of plants, invertebrates, and vertebrates, including reptiles and mammals. Eocene stromatolites are also present. The willow leaf exhibits clear venation, while a tiny insect, although less well-preserved, is also part of the finds. Insects are rare in Green River fossils.

Fossils from the early Middle Eocene shales of the Green River Formation, found in Utah, Colorado, and Wyoming, are abundant, indicating that the family was a significant part of the vegetation surrounding the large lakes where these shales accumulated.
