Pachycephalosaurus is an extinct genus of pachycephalosaurid dinosaurs that lived in North America during the late Cretaceous period, around 68 to 65 million years ago. It reached lengths of approximately 5 meters (16 feet) and weighed between 370 and 450 kilograms. This bipedal dinosaur had strong hind limbs and smaller forelimbs. It is notable for its large, bony dome on the skull, which could be up to 25 cm (10 inches) thick, protecting its small brain. The short skull featured large, forward-facing eye sockets, indicating good eyesight and binocular vision. It likely had a short, thick neck, a robust body, long hind legs, and a heavy, rigid tail, making it the largest known dome-headed dinosaur.
