Name: Carcharodontosaurus
Type: Carnivore
Size: 12 meters in length.
Carcharodontosaurus represents a formidable genus of large theropod dinosaurs from the Cenomanian stage of the Late Cretaceous, native to Northern Africa. Among the largest of the carcharodontosaurids, it rivaled genera such as Tyrannotitan and Sauroniops in scale, though it was marginally smaller than Giganotosaurus. This apex predator reached lengths of approximately 12 meters, stood around 3.5 meters tall at the hips, and weighed nearly 7 tonnes. Its relatively short yet robust forelimbs surpassed those of T. rex in length and bore three formidable claws each. The dinosaur’s imposing skull housed over 60 blade-like teeth, each measuring about 20 cm, expertly adapted for slicing into the flesh of prey, likely including juvenile sauropods and ornithopods.

Please be aware of the nature of fossils:
Being buried under the ground for millions of years under tons of pressure tends to be rough. No fossil comes out of the ground whole and perfect. Most fossils have undergone some restoration, while others are altered by man simply to enhance their presentation in different ways. The workers in Morocco do a very professional job of unearthing and preserving these natural treasures. These are part of the natural beauty of the fossil and are not considered defects.
