Elasmosaurus Fossil Teeth

Elasmosaurus is a genus of plesiosaur, living in North America during the Campanian stage of the Cretaceous period. This marine predator was an air-breathing reptile, but had paddle-like limbs, a short tail, a small head, and an extremely long neck. On a 34' creature, its neck could be 23'! Elasmosaurids probably ate small fish and invertebrates, seizing them with their long teeth, and probably used gastroliths (stomach stones) to help digest their food.
