Name: Carcharodontosaurus

Type: Carnivore

Size: 12 meters in length.

Carcharodontosaurus was a large theropod dinosaur that lived during the Cenomanian stage of the Late Cretaceous period in Northern Africa. It ranked among the largest Carcharadontosaurids, comparable in size to Tyrannotitan and Sauroniops, and was slightly smaller than Giganotosaurus. It measured about 12 meters long, stood around 3.5 meters tall at the hips, and weighed approximately 7 tonnes. Its arms were relatively short but longer and stronger than those of T. rex, each ending in three claws. The dinosaur had a large head with more than 60 sharp, blade-like teeth measuring 20 cm (8 inches) long, ideal for piercing and tearing the flesh of prey such as young sauropods and ornithopods.

Please be aware of the nature of fossils:

Being buried under the ground for millions of years under tons of pressure tends to be rough. No fossil comes out of the ground whole and perfect. Most fossils have undergone some restoration, while others are altered by man simply to enhance their presentation in different ways. The workers in Morocco do a very professional job of unearthing and preserving these natural treasures. These are part of the natural beauty of the fossil and are not considered defects.
