Mosasaurs were the largest lizards to have ever lived, growing up to nearly 60 feet long with skulls measuring 6 feet. These powerful marine reptiles spent their entire lives in the ocean, expertly swimming with long, flexible bodies and finned tails that propelled them forward, while small webbed feet aided in steering. They thrived during the late Cretaceous period, between 96 and 65 million years ago. As skilled predators, they fed on fish, sea urchins, turtles, and shellfish. Living alongside dinosaurs, mosasaurs vanished during the mass extinction at the end of the Cretaceous—own a piece of this incredible prehistoric legacy today.

Please be aware of the nature of fossils:

Being buried under the ground for millions of years under tons of pressure tends to be rough. No fossil comes out of the ground whole and perfect. Most fossils have undergone some restoration, while others are altered by man simply to enhance their presentation in different ways. The workers in the United States do a very professional job of unearthing and preserving these natural treasures; however, commonly, natural cracks are visible on the surface. These are part of the natural beauty of the fossil and are not considered defects.
