Size: 12 meters in length.
Carcharodontosaurus was a formidable theropod dinosaur from the Cenomanian stage of the Late Cretaceous in Northern Africa. As one of the largest Carcharadontosaurids, it closely matched giants like Tyrannotitan and Sauroniops, while being just slightly smaller than Giganotosaurus. This predator reached lengths of approximately 12 meters, stood about 3.5 meters tall at the hips, and weighed nearly 7 tonnes. Its relatively short but powerful arms, longer than those of T. rex, ended in hands with three sharp claws. Equipped with a massive head housing over 60 blade-like teeth measuring 8 inches long, it was perfectly adapted to tear into the flesh of prey such as young sauropods and ornithopods. This tooth is a remarkable relic of one of the Late Cretaceous’s most impressive hunters.

Please be aware of the nature of fossils:
Being buried under the ground for millions of years under tons of pressure tends to be rough. No fossil comes out of the ground whole and perfect. Most fossils have undergone some restoration, while others are altered by man simply to enhance their presentation in different ways. The workers in Morocco do a very professional job of unearthing and preserving these natural treasures. These are part of the natural beauty of the fossil and are not considered defects.
