Name: Carcharodontosaurus

Type: Carnivore

Size: 12 meters in length.

Carcharodontosaurus was a large theropod dinosaur that lived during the Cenomanian age of the Late Cretaceous in Northern Africa. It ranked among the largest Carcharadontosaurids, similar in size to Tyrannotitan and Sauroniops, though slightly smaller than Giganotosaurus. This dinosaur reached about 12 meters in length, stood roughly 3.5 meters tall at the hips, and weighed around 7 tonnes. Its arms, though somewhat short, were longer and stronger than those of T. rex and featured three claws on each hand. Its large head held more than 60 sharp, 20 cm (8-inch) blade-like teeth, perfectly suited for piercing and tearing the flesh of prey such as young sauropods and ornithopods.

Please be aware of the nature of fossils:

Being buried under the ground for millions of years under tons of pressure tends to be rough. No fossil comes out of the ground whole and perfect. Most fossils have undergone some restoration, while others are altered by man simply to enhance their presentation in different ways. The workers in Morocco do a very professional job of unearthing and preserving these natural treasures. These are part of the natural beauty of the fossil and are not considered defects.
