Name: Carcharodontosaurus

Type: Carnivore

Size: 12 meters in length.

Carcharodontosaurus, a prominent genus of large theropod dinosaurs from the Cenomanian stage of the Late Cretaceous in Northern Africa, ranked among the largest carcharodontosaurids. Comparable in scale to Tyrannotitan and Sauroniops and slightly smaller than Giganotosaurus, it reached around 12 meters in length, stood approximately 3.5 meters tall at the hips, and weighed close to 7 tonnes. Its relatively short yet robust arms surpassed those of T. rex in length and featured three formidable claws each. The dinosaur bore a massive skull equipped with over 60 blade-like teeth, each about 20 cm (8 inches) long, expertly adapted to pierce and tear the flesh of its prey, likely including juvenile sauropods and ornithopods.

Please be aware of the nature of fossils:

Being buried under the ground for millions of years under tons of pressure tends to be rough. No fossil comes out of the ground whole and perfect. Most fossils have undergone some restoration, while others are altered by man simply to enhance their presentation in different ways. The workers in Morocco do a very professional job of unearthing and preserving these natural treasures. These are part of the natural beauty of the fossil and are not considered defects.
