Name: Carcharodontosaurus

Type: Carnivore

Size: 12 meters in length.

Carcharodontosaurus was one of the largest and most fearsome carnivorous dinosaurs to ever walk the Earth. This massive theropod dinosaur lived during the Cenomanian stage of the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 100–94 million years ago, in what is now Northern Africa. Belonging to the family Carcharodontosauridae, it ranked among the largest predatory dinosaurs, comparable in size to Tyrannotitan and Sauroniops, and only slightly smaller than Giganotosaurus.

This apex predator reached an estimated 12 meters (39 feet) in length, stood around 3.5 meters (11.5 feet) tall at the hips, and weighed nearly 7 tonnes. Although its arms were shorter relative to its body, they were longer and more robust than those of Tyrannosaurus rex, each hand bearing three powerful claws used for gripping prey. Its enormous skull housed over 60 razor-sharp, blade-like teeth, some measuring up to 20 centimeters long, perfectly adapted for slicing flesh.

Carcharodontosaurus was a highly efficient hunter, preying on juvenile sauropods and ornithopod dinosaurs, and dominated its ecosystem as a true apex predator. With its massive size, cutting dentition, and powerful build, this iconic African dinosaur remains one of the most impressive large theropod dinosaurs known to science.
