Celestite, or Celestine, is a striking strontium sulfate mineral known for its rare and captivating pale blue color. Found in crystal formations as well as dense and fibrous shapes, it typically appears in sedimentary rocks alongside gypsum, anhydrite, and halite. This elusive mineral is scattered worldwide but notable for its vivid blue specimens mined in Madagascar near Sakoany village. Here, thick layers of celestine lie hidden beneath the earth, extracted through shafts plunging 15 meters deep. Celestine boldly reveals itself in two dramatic forms: geodes reaching up to 60 cm wide and intense crystal clusters up to 15 cm across.
