Ghost or Phantom Quartz forms when a layer of chlorite is deposited during the early stages of the quartz crystal’s growth. As the crystal continues to develop above this inclusion, a unique effect emerges: a colored form appears within the clear quartz above the chlorite layer. Each specimen is distinct, so it’s recommended to carefully examine images to appreciate its individuality. Quartz has a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale, while the chlorite deposits are softer, with a hardness of 2–2.5. This specimen is lab-grown.

Quartz is the most well-known crystal, often the first that comes to mind when people think of crystals, despite the many varieties that exist. It can be clear or include features like inclusions, veils, bubbles, and different colors. The clarity of quartz doesn’t usually affect its energetic properties or its capacity to enhance subtle energies.
