Prehnite is a pale green mineral that ranges from translucent to transparent and belongs to the phyllosilicate family. First identified in 1788, it was named after Dutch military officer Colonel Hendrik von Prehn. This mineral is often associated with calcite and epidote and is commonly found in basaltic rocks.
