Megaloolithus refers to fossilized eggs that are thought to have been laid by a medium-sized titanosaur living in what is now Western Europe near the end of the Cretaceous Period. These eggs are generally spherical and measure about thirty centimeters in diameter. Variations in their size and structure have led researchers to suggest that the eggs may not all have come from the same species, or that the dinosaurs that laid them may have had dietary deficiencies that limited the calcium and other nutrients available for eggshell formation.
