85 - 66 Million Years old, Early Campanian, Maastrichtian Epoch.
Tylosaurus is a genus of large marine reptiles called mosasaurs that existed during the Late Cretaceous period, roughly 85 to 65 million years ago. These animals were top predators and are regarded as some of the largest mosasaurs ever found. Although fossils of Tylosaurus have been discovered in regions such as North America, Europe, and Australia, there is no evidence indicating that Tylosaurus lived in Morocco.
Morocco, located in North Africa, has a rich fossil record that includes a diverse range of prehistoric marine life. However, the mosasaurs found in Morocco belong to different genera, such as Prognathodon and Mosasaurus, rather than Tylosaurus. These Moroccan mosasaurs share similar characteristics with their counterparts found in other regions but represent distinct species.
Please be aware of the nature of fossils:
Being buried under ground for millions of years under pressure can cause fossils to be imperfect. Few fossils emerge whole; many need restoration or are altered by humans to improve appearance. Moroccan workers professionally unearth and preserve these treasures, though natural cracks often remain visible. These cracks are part of the fossil's natural beauty, not defects.
