Septarian Dragon Stone:

Septarian is a unique stone found in only a few locations worldwide. In the USA, septarians are discovered near Zion National Park in Southern Utah. They are also found in Mahajanga, Madagascar, and Morocco. These stones formed on an ancient seafloor during the Cretaceous Period (50–70 million years ago).

Originally, the nodules could be collected as they naturally weathered out of the gray or tan clay hills. Today, excavation typically requires bulldozers, as the stones are found 20–30 feet underground. Septarian nodules are visually striking and can vary widely in color and shape.
