 Name: Triceratops

Type: Herbivore

Size: 8 to 9 meters long.

Triceratops, a genus of herbivorous ceratopsid dinosaurs, emerged during the Late Cretaceous period approximately 68 million years ago, with an estimated weight ranging from 5 to 9 metric tons. These substantial quadrupeds are distinguished by their three prominent horns and an expanded bony frill extending from the rear of the skull. The skull itself was notably large relative to the body, featuring a short neck frill and a trio of horns, with the pair situated above the eyes being the most pronounced, while a smaller nasal horn projected from the snout. Complementing these features were numerous small spikes lining the frill’s edge. This species coexisted with the formidable Tyrannosaurus Rex, which likely regarded it as prey.
