Triceratops, a herbivorous ceratopsid dinosaur from the Late Cretaceous around 68 million years ago, weighed between 5 and 9 metric tons. This large, four-legged dinosaur was characterized by a notably large skull and a distinctive short neck frill extending from the back, as well as three characteristic horns. The two prominent horns above the eyes were the largest, while a smaller nasal horn projected from the snout. Alongside these main horns, the frill was edged with numerous small spikes. Triceratops coexisted with—and was likely hunted by—the Tyrannosaurus Rex.
