Hadrosaurus, a fascinating genus of hadrosaurid ornithopod dinosaur, roamed North America during the Late Cretaceous Period, roughly 80 to 78 million years ago. These impressive creatures weighed between 2 to 4 tons and primarily moved on all fours, with powerful hind legs supporting most of their weight. Yet, they could rear up on their hind legs to reach higher vegetation or sprint away from predators. Their teeth were remarkably complex, numbering up to 1,400. While their forelimbs were not as robust as their hindlimbs, they were still long enough to assist in standing and walking. Hadrosaurus shared a similar appearance with Kritosaurus, which lived in the same era, as well as with later hadrosaurids like Edmontosaurus.
