Name: Carcharodontosaurus

Type: Carnivore

Size: 12 meters in length.

Carcharodontosaurus was a massive carnivorous theropod that lived in Northern Africa during the Cenomanian stage of the Late Cretaceous period. It ranked among the largest members of the carcharodontosaurid family, comparable in size to Tyrannotitan and Sauroniops, and only slightly smaller than the enormous Giganotosaurus. This formidable predator reached lengths of approximately 12 meters, stood around 3.5 meters tall at the hips, and is estimated to have weighed nearly 7 tonnes.

Despite its immense size, Carcharodontosaurus possessed strong, muscular forelimbs that were longer than those of Tyrannosaurus rex. Each arm ended in three powerful claws, likely used to grasp and restrain prey. Its massive skull was armed with over 60 long, razor-sharp, blade-like teeth, some measuring up to 20 centimeters in length. These slicing teeth were perfectly adapted for tearing flesh, allowing Carcharodontosaurus to efficiently hunt large herbivorous dinosaurs such as juvenile sauropods and ornithopods.

Dominating its ecosystem as an apex predator, Carcharodontosaurus was one of the most powerful and fearsome dinosaurs of the Late Cretaceous, perfectly adapted for life at the top of the prehistoric food chain.
