Lambeosaurus was a hadrosaurid dinosaur that roamed North America about 75 million years ago during the Late Cretaceous. Known for its duck-billed appearance, it featured a unique hatchet-shaped hollow crest on its skull, likely used for defense or as a display. Its long tail, reinforced with ossified tendons, stayed rigid to help with balance. This sturdy dinosaur had strong front and hind legs and was a plant-eater, feeding on pine needles, conifers, ginkgoes, seeds, cycads, twigs, and magnolia leaves. The shape of its crest varied between the two main species, making it especially fascinating to dinosaur enthusiasts.
