Hadrosaurus, a hadrosaurid ornithopod from North America’s Late Cretaceous period about 80 to 78 million years ago, weighed between 2 to 4 tons. Primarily moving on all fours, it relied on powerful hind legs to bear its weight but could also stand and run on them to access higher vegetation or escape predators. Its complex dental structure featured up to 1,400 teeth, while its forelimbs, though lighter, were long enough to aid in movement and stability. Resembling Kritosaurus and later hadrosaurids like Edmontosaurus, this fascinating dinosaur offers a remarkable glimpse into prehistoric life.
