Hadrosaurus is a genus of hadrosaurid ornithopod dinosaurs that inhabited North America during the Late Cretaceous Period, roughly 80 to 78 million years ago. These dinosaurs weighed between 2 and 4 tons and mostly moved on all fours, with strong hind legs supporting their weight. They could also stand on their hind legs to reach higher vegetation and run on two legs to avoid predators. Their teeth were highly complex, numbering up to 1,400. Their forelimbs were less robust than their hind limbs but long enough to assist in standing or locomotion. Their overall build resembled that of Kritosaurus and later hadrosaurids like Edmontosaurus.
