Megaloolithus refers to eggs attributed to a medium-sized titanosaur that lived in what is now Western Europe during the late Cretaceous period. These fossilized eggs are roughly spherical and measure about thirty centimeters in diameter. Variations observed among different Megaloolithus eggs have led scientists to suggest that they may not all have come from the same species, or that the dinosaur laying them may have suffered from a dietary deficiency that reduced the amount of calcium and other nutrients available for proper eggshell formation.
