Megaloolithus refers to fossilized eggs that have been attributed to a medium-sized titanosaur living in what is now Western Europe near the end of the Cretaceous period. These eggs are generally spherical and measure about thirty centimeters in diameter. Differences in the size and structure of Megaloolithus eggs have led scientists to suggest that they may not all belong to the same species, or that the dinosaurs that laid them experienced dietary deficiencies, resulting in reduced calcium and other nutrients needed for proper eggshell formation.
