Nanotyrannus, meaning "dwarf tyrant," is a fascinating and debated genus of tyrannosaurid dinosaurs, likely representing a juvenile Tyrannosaurus. This rare fossil, dating from 72.1 to 66 million years ago, stands out due to its distinct dental structure—possessing more teeth in both upper and lower jaws than a fully grown T. rex. With 14–15 teeth on each side of its upper jaw and 16 on each lower side, compared to T. rex’s fewer tooth positions, it offers a unique glimpse into prehistoric life. These formidable hunters likely worked in groups to capture massive prey like ceratopsians and hadrosaurs, making this fossil tooth an extraordinary piece for any collector.
