This is a cluster of fossil Sand Dollars is near Boujdour, Morocco. Most of, if not all of these echinoderms appear to be of the genus Heliophora, Heliophora is small sand dollars belonging to the family Rotulidae which went extinct during the Pliocene. The genus has distinctive indentations along the edge of the body, but the extent and depth of these can vary remarkably between individual specimens.
