Late Cretaceous 80 Million Years ago.

The baculite now-extinct sea creature that lived in many areas around the world during the late Cretaceous Period 80 million years ago. It was a mollusk belonging to the class Cephalopoda and had tentacles that grew out of its head. Related to the modern day squid.

Please be aware of the nature of fossils:

Being buried under the ground for millions of years under tons of pressure tends to be rough. No fossil comes out of the ground whole and perfect.  Commonly natural cracks are visible on the surface. These are part of the natural beauty of the fossil and not considered defects.
