As early relatives of Tyrannosaurus rex, which appeared at the end of the Cretaceous, these tyrannosaurs are all smaller than T. rex. Daspletosaurus and Gorgosaurus were similar in size and coexisted during the same period, each about 30 feet long and weighing up to 5000 lbs.
