Medusaceratops is a genus of herbivorous dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 76 million years ago. It belongs to the family Ceratopsidae, which includes other well-known dinosaurs such as Triceratops and Styracosaurus. The specific species, Medusaceratops lokii, was discovered in the Judith River Formation in Wyoming, United States.

Medusaceratops was a large dinosaur, estimated to have reached lengths of up to 6 meters (20 feet) and weighed around 2 tons. It had a characteristic frill at the back of its skull, which was adorned with long, curved spikes resembling the snakes on the head of Medusa from Greek mythology. This unique feature gives the dinosaur its name, as "Medusa" refers to the mythical creature with snake-like hair.

The Judith River Formation is a geological formation that spans across several states in the western United States, including Montana, North Dakota, and South Dakota. It is known for its rich fossil record, particularly of dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures. The formation represents a diverse ecosystem that existed during the Late Cretaceous period.
