Peacock Ore Mineral Collection

Peacock Ore is also known as Bornite, and is a sulfide mineral that crystallizes in a pseudo cubic form.  This copper ore mineral is found in copper mines and is typically 63% or more copper.  The brilliant iridescent metallic colors of peacock ore are a result of surface tarnishing (reaction to oxygen) that is natural but often enhanced with a bath of Sulfuric Acid to brighten the natural colors.  The Metallic Lustre of this ore, its hardness of only 3, and its brittle tenacity means that is should be handled with care, so as not to lose the surface colors by chipping.  Metaphysical properties of gemstones and minerals are provided for informational purposes only, and no life-altering results are guaranteed.  Bornite or Peacock Ore is believed to enhance joy and is a great gift of encouragement for the present moment and circumstance through the lesson of acceptance.  It is associated with the adrenal gland and is said to align all the chakras, no matter which one it is used with.  In color therapy, the brilliant blues, green, gold, and purple hues have got you covered!
